Garmin: Foretrex 101 Review

Why I choose Foretrex 101?
1) Small
2) Cheaper

However, if you need a GPS with built-in map, Foretrex 101 is not suit for you. It only has two function - where you have been and where are you now ? It acquires satellite signals very fast. In the Taiwan High Speed Rail, it picks up signals between Taiwan High Speed 700T train leave station and speed reaches 100km/h. It works normal, even you are in an area of high density forest.

However, the rubber seal for waterproof is too easy to loose and it may cause some problem when it start to rain.

It uses two AAAs and provides with more than 10 hours during my field work in East Rift Valley of Taiwan.
